Always listen to the essence of the Gita. It makes the mind blossom. Alleviate desire and anger. Blessed by this message, remain in bliss.
「バガヴァッド・ギーター」の教えに常に耳を傾けなさい。 それはマインド（意思）を開花させ、欲望と怒りを和らげる。 このメッセージに祝福され、至福の中にとどまりなさい。

Besotted with grief, Arjuna spoke like one deluded. To destroy his dilemma, this song of God, the Gita, sprang forth.
アルジュナは悲しみに打ちひしがれて、まるで妄言のように語った。 彼のジレンマ（葛藤）を解消するために、この神の歌「ギーター」が生まれた。

śaraṇāgati patha mavāpnuhi
ātma nitya ssarvagatō

Know that Sankhya is Truth. Follow the path of surrender. Soul is eternal and all-pervasive. It is changeless and indestructible.
サーンキャ哲学が真理であることを知りなさい。 神に従順し、霊性の道を辿りなさい。 魂は永遠であり、遍在している。 それは不変であり、破壊することはできない。

kāryaṁ karma tu samācara
karmābaddhaḥ paramēti

Avoid anticipating the fruits of action. Do what you must do. Being desire-free brings Liberation. Attachment to action acts against you.
行為の見返りを期待しないように。やらなければならないことをやりなさい。 欲望を持たないことが、解放をもたらす。 行為への執着は、あなたにとって不利に働く。
karmākarma vikarmatvaṁ
cintaya cātmani karmagatiṁ
nāsti jñānasamaṁ lōkē
tyaja cāhaṅkr̥ti miha dēhē ...4
Know right action from wrong action. None lives with no action. Know that Knowledge is supreme. Abandon ego. Know that body is not you.
正しい行為と、間違った行為を知りなさい。 行為をなさない人間はいない。 知識が至高であることを知りなさい。エゴを捨てなさい。 肉体は自分ではないことを知りなさい。

vaha samabuddhiṁ sarvatra
bhava samadarśī tvaṁ hi sakhē
yōnanuraktō na dvēṣṭi
yōgī yōgaṁ jānāti ...5
Everything is the same. See things that way. Ever be even-minded. Have no affinity. Have no aversion. Accept whatever comes. That is Yoga.
万物はすべてが平等である。 物事をそう見なさい。 平常心でいなさい。 物欲を持たないこと。 嫌悪感を持たないこと。 何が来ても受け入れる。 それがヨーガである。
mitraṁ tava tē śatrurapi
tvamēva nānyō janturayi!
yuktastvaṁ bhava cēṣṭāsu
āhārādiṣu vividhāsu ...6
You are your own friend. You are your own foe. You have no enemy other than yourself. Be good in behavior. Avoid too much food, sleep, and fun.
あなたは、あなた自身の友人である。 あなたは、あなた自身の敵である。 あなたには、自分以外の敵はいない。 品行方正でありなさい。 食事、睡眠の取りすぎ、享楽にふけるのを避けなさい。

anātmarūpā maṣṭavidhāṁ
prakr̥ti mavidyāṁ jānīhi
jīva ssaiva hi paramātmā
yasmin prōtaṁ sarvamidaṁ ...7
Nature, not Self, has eight forms; earth, water, fire, air, space, mind, intellect, and ego. Prakriti (Nature) is ignorance. It is not the Soul. The Supreme Self sustains Creation.
プラクリティ（物質の原理）は、自己ではありません。プラクリティには、地、水、火、風、空、意思、知性、自我の8つの姿がある。 プラクリティは無知である。それは魂ではない。至高の自己が創造を支えています。
akṣara para vara puruṣaṁ taṁ
dhyāyan prētō yāti paraṁ
tata stamēva dhyāyan tvaṁ
kālaṁ yāpaya naśyantaṁ ...8
In the last breath, mediate on Purusha, to attain Liberation. He is imperishable. Spend lifetime in contemplation. Wasting time, wastes life.
最後のひと呼吸でプルシャ（精神の原理）を瞑想し、解脱を得なさい。 プルシャは不滅である。 生涯を観照に費やしなさい。 時間を無駄にすることは、人生を無駄にすることである。

sarvaṁ brahmārpaṇa buddhyā
karma kriyatāṁ samabuddhyā
bhaktyā dattaṁ patramapi
phalamapi tēna svīkriyatē ...9
Surrender everything to Brahman, the Supreme Spirit. Offer with pure devotion, a leaf, fruit, flower, or water. God accepts it with and joy.
至高の主ブラフマンにすべてを委ねなさい。 純粋な献身をもって、葉、果実、花、あるいは水を捧げなさい。 神はそれを喜びを持って受け入れてくださる。
yatra vibhūti śśrī yuktā
yatra vibhūti ssattvayutā
tatra tamīśaṁ paśyantaṁ
nērṣyā dvēṣau sajjētē ...10
See God in affluence, magnificence, radiance, and intelligence. Satva Guna is godly, never touched by jealousy, greed, or hatred.
豊かさ、壮大さ、輝き、知性の中に神を見よ。 サットヴァ（純質）は神的属性であり、嫉妬、貪欲、憎悪の入り込む余地はない。

kālastasya mahān rūpō
lōkān sarvān saṅgrasati
bhaktyā bhagavadrūpaṁ taṁ
prabhavati lōka ssandraṣṭuṁ ...11
God manifests as Time, the Destroyer, devouring everything. Those of pure devotion alone see Him in this Cosmic Form.
神は破壊者である時間として現れ、すべてを食い尽くす。 純粋で信心深い者だけが、この宇宙の姿としての神を見ることができる。
bhakti stasmin ratirūpā
saiva hi bhaktōddharaṇacaṇā
bhāvaṁ tasyā mādhāya
buddhiṁ tasmi nnivēśaya ...12
Devotion and love for the divine, uplift the devotee. Instill such love. Immerse the heart in unwevering devotion devoid of desire and hate.
神への信心と愛が、帰依者を高揚させる。 そのような愛を教え込みなさい。 欲望や憎しみを排除した、永遠の信愛に心を浸しなさい。

kṣētraṁ tadjñaṁ jānīhi
kṣētrē mamatāṁ mā kuru ca
ātmānaṁ yō jānāti
ātmani sōyaṁ nanu ramatē ...13
Know the Kshetra and the Kshetrajna, the body and its indweller. Revel in the Soul, the resident, not the body, the mere shelter.
クシェートラとクシェートラジュナ、身体とその内住者を知りなさい。 単なる家である肉体ではなく、住人である魂を堪能しなさい。

bandhana hētava athavarjyaḥ
trayaṁ guṇānāṁ yōtīta-
ssaiva brāhmaṁ sukhamēti ...14
Satva, Rajas and Tamas, the three Gunas are the culprits, binding the soul to the body. They act, not you. Go beyond them, and live in bliss.
サットヴァ（純質）、ラジャス（激質）、タマス（暗質）という3つの属性は、魂を肉体に縛り付けている元凶である。 行為をなすのはそれらであって、あなたではない。 それらを超えて、至福のうちに生きなさい。

chitvā sāmsārikavr̥kṣaṁ
padaṁ gavēṣaya munilakṣyaṁ
tatkila sarvaṁ tējō yat
vēdai ssarvai ssanvēdyaṁ ...15
Destroy the tree of Delusion. It manifests as the world. Chop it, and uproot it, with the axe of dispassion. Seek the abobe the sages aspire for. This, the Vedas teach.
幻惑の木を破壊しなさい。 それはこの世間として顕現する。 離欲の斧で、それを切り、根こそぎにしなさい。 賢者が熱望する住処を求めよ。 これが、ヴェーダが教えていることです。

daivē saktā yānti paraṁ

World has two types, godly and the ungodly. Those with godly nature are happy. They get liberated. Those with a devilish nature suffer and go to hell.
世界には、神を信じる者と信じない者の2種類がいる。 霊性を持つ者は幸せである。 彼らは解放される。 邪心を持つ者は苦しみ、地獄に落ちる。

niṣṭhā yajñē dānē ca
tapasi prōktā saditi parā
satkila saphalaṁ saśraddhaṁ
tatkila niṣphala maśraddhaṁ ...17
Pure and Satvic sacrifice, charity, and penance, nobly done, yield good results. The same actions, done wickedly, lacking purity, deny rewards.
純粋でサトヴィックな犠牲、慈善、苦行が、気高く行われれば、良い結果をもたらす。 同じ行為でも、純粋さを欠いて邪悪に行われたものは、報いを受けません。
dharmān sarvān tyaktvā tvaṁ
śaraṇaṁ vraja para-mātmānaṁ
mōkṣaṁ prāpsyasi satyaṁ tvaṁ
santata sacidānanda ghanaṁ ...18
Leaving all Dharmas, surrender to the Almighty. Doing so, you attain Liberation, the highest Truth, Consciousness, and Bliss eternal.
すべてのダルマ（正義）を捨て、全能の神に全てを委ねなさい。 そうすることで、あなたは解放、最高の真理、意識、永遠の至福を手に入れることができる。
