Study: Gītā Ārati

1.

om jaya bhagavadgīte mayya jaya bhagavadgīte |
hari-hiya kamala-vihāriṇi sundara supunīte || om jaya ||
Glory unto Thee, O Mother Bhagavad Gita,
Who plays in the lotus heart of Lord
Hari, Who is most beautiful and pure.

 

2.

karma-sukarma-prakāśini kāmāsakti harā |
tattvajñāna-vikāśini vidyā brahma parā || om jaya ||
Enlightener of all the secrets of action,
Remover of all attachment to desires,
Enlightener of intuitional knowledge
Thou art knowledge of Brahman itself.

 

3.

niścala-bhakti-vidhāyini nirmala malahārī |
śaraṇa-rahasya-pradāyini saba vidhi sukhakārī || om jaya ||
Giver of supreme steadfast devotion, ever pure,
Remover of all obstacles, bestower of the secrets
Of supreme surrender
And giver of all kinds of happiness

 

4.

rāga-dveña-vidāriṇi kāriṇi moda sadā |
bhava-bhaya-hāriṇi tāriṇi paramānandapradā || om jaya ||
Remover of all likes and dislikes,
Giver of happiness and bliss always,
Dispeller of all fear of birth and death,
Thou who helps us to cross (the ocean of samsara),
Giver of supreme bliss.

 

5.

āsura-bhāva-vināśini nāśini tama-rajanī |
daivī sadguṇadāyini hari-rasikā sajanī || om jaya ||
Destroyer of all sorts of demonical thoughts,
Dispeller of darkness, giver of divine qualities and divine vision,
The beloved of Lord Hari, in whom
He rejoices.

 

6.

samatā tyāga sikhāvani hari-mukha kī vāṇī |
sakala śāstra kī svāmini śruitiyo kī rānī || om jaya ||
Bestower of equanimity and the spirit of renunciation,
Thou art the very words which come out of Lord Hari’s mouth.
Repository of all scriptures, Queen of all Veda’s.

 

7.

dayā-sudhā barsāvani mātu kṛpā kījai |
hari-pada-prema pradāyini apano kara lījai || om jaya ||
Be compassionate and shower your grace.
Do gift us the love for Śri Hari's lotus feet, Make us yours.
Victory to thee, O Mother Bhagavad Gita!

 

8.

om pūrṇamadaḥ pūrṇamidaṁ pūrṇāt pūrṇamudacyate |
pūrṇasya pūrṇamādāya pūrṇamevāvaśiñyate ||
|| om śāntiḥ śāntiḥ śāntiḥ ||
Om, That (Visible outer world) is Full,
This (Invisible inner world) is also Full,
From Fullness comes that Fullness,
Taking Fullness from Fullness, Fullness indeed Remains,
Let there be Peace, Peace, Peace
